7 Day Hybrid YMJJ

This year we are grateful to have Zen Master Soeng Hyang lead a hybrid 7 Day Yong Maeng Jong Jin retreat. Yong Maeng Jong Jin retreats are held in silence. The schedule each day consists of several hours of Zen practice (bowing, chanting, sitting and walking), work, rest periods and vegetarian meals eaten in traditional temple style. Dharma talks and kong an interviews will be given remotely by Zen Master Soeng Hyang.
Minimum participation is 24 hours, meals and accommodations included.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this retreat will be held in Diamond Hill Monastery and the number of participants will be capped at 13 to allow social distancing protocols to be followed. We require all participants to have taken a Covid test and received a negative result within 72 hours of arrival at the Providence Zen Center.In person registration
Due to our limited capacity, preference will be given to participants wishing to sit the full week.
For practitioners that wish to participate but are unable, we are offering an online version of the retreat.
Registration is at 8 am in the main lobby on Saturday 12/5.
This is the only entry day for this retreat.

Zen Master Soeng Hyang (Barbara Rhodes) is the School Zen Master of the Kwan Um School of Zen. She received dharma transmission from Zen Master Seung Sahn on October 10, 1992. She was one of Zen Master Seung Sahn’s first American students and studied with him beginning in 1972. She was given inka in 1977. She helped found Providence Zen Center, and lived there for seventeen years, serving in a number of administrative capacities.
