Carlos Montero, JDPSN, was born and raised in Venezuela and came to the United States to study chemical engineering at Penn State University. He began practicing meditation 1997 after his golf coach suggested that Zen might help him let go of his thinking mind and just play the sport. In 2000 Carlos founded the South Florida Zen Group where he serves as the guiding teacher. And in 2015, he received inka, or permission to teach. Outside of the dharma hall Carlos teaches chemistry and holds a 1st degree black belt in Aikido.
