Coming Together To Inquire with Nancy Brown Hedgpeth, JDPSN
Nancy Brown Hedgpeth has been a Zen student and part of the Kwan Um School of Zen since 1979. She has practiced at the Cambridge Zen Center, the Providence Zen Center, the New Haven Zen Center as well as in South Korean temples. She is a retired nurse. She helped run a farm in southern Rhode Island her husband. Nancy received inka, or permission to teach, from Zen Master Seung Sahn in 1994. She currently lives at Providence Zen Center where she serves as co-guiding teacher.
Sunday June 8 - 12:00PMÂ - We will have a potluck dinner followed by a Sangha town hall meeting at 1:15PM. Please bring a dish of your own and any questions, comments or concerns. We hope to see you there!
Sunday NovemberÂ 17 - 11:40AM:Â Sangha meeting with lunch provided. We will have a town hall style meeting where Sangha members can ask any questions or discuss any issues they may have. Lunch will be at11:40AMÂ and the meeting will begin atÂ 12:30PM.

Sunday September 23 â€“ 9:00AM â€“ 12:00PM:Â Sangha work day with lunch provided. Come join the PZC staff and residents and volunteer a few hours around the Zen Center. Weâ€™ll be working inside and outside so please dress accordingly. A hearty home cooked vegetarian lunch will be provided afterwards. Come help us get things ready for the New England Autumn!

Providence Zen Center always has numerous opportunities for volunteering!Â If you enjoy cooking, you can volunteer for the Wednesday night community dinner, either as a head cook, as an assistant, or you can bring a dessert to accompany the meal.Â People with any level of skill in carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, flooring installation, or any other construction related skills can be helpful in helping with the maintenance and improvement of the Zen Center buildings.Â Folks are welcome to work in the garden or grounds throughout the summer.Â Our office staff welcomes volunteers to help with filing, data entry, and other office ...
