Foundations of Zen Workshop Saturday March 18th with Nancy Hedgpeth JDPSN & José Ramirez JDPSN from 9:00am-12:00!   This event is $25 for all. Dharma Practice Sunday

Sunday Dharma Practice Sunday  -  9:00 am  Meditation instruction class with sitting and walking meditation periods and a Dharma Talk  9:00 am – 9:30 am – Meditation Instruction Class 9:30 am – 10:40 am – Two half hour sitting periods with a ten minute walking meditation in-between 10:45 am – 11:30 am – A Dharma Talk followed by refreshments. Talks are a great opportunity to learn more about zen teaching. They consist of a short introductory talk by a student followed by a question and answer session with a teacher or senior student.

Wednesday February 8 - 5:30PM:  Public vegetarian dinner followed by meditation instruction class at 6:30PM. Also at 6:30PM special chanting begins in the main Dharma Room followed by regular chanting at 7:00PM. There will be two sitting periods this evening beginning at 7:30PM with kong-an interviews with special guest teacher Tim Lerch, JDPSN. Bio: Timothy Lerch, JDPSN, received inka from Zen Master Seung Sahn in 2001. Lerch PSN was the abbot of the Providence Zen Center in Cumberland RI, the head temple of the Kwan Um School of Zen in America from 2000 to 2006, and has trained extensively in the US and Asia. No Power but Plenty of Practice

Just a quick FYI that although Providence Zen Center is without power due to Tropical Storm Irene moving through the area yesterday, practice is continuing as scheduled. We have plenty of candles to keep the Dharma Room lit. Thank You!
