We ask all staff and Sangha members who are experiencing symptoms of illness to protect others who may be at high risk by staying home. Online practice options are listed at providencezen.org, as well as at kwanumzen.org.
Providence Zen Center makes hand sanitizer, tissues, and face masks available to all visitors and guests. Please notify staff about any hygiene concerns in PZC buildings, or email housemaster@providencezen.org.
Core Prevention Strategies from the State of RI
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that all people use core prevention strategies to protect themselves and others from COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses.
- Stay up to date with your vaccines
- Practice good hygiene by covering your coughs and sneezes, washing or sanitizing your hands often, and cleaning frequently touched surfaces
- Take steps for cleaner air to increase ventilation and circulation
- Additional strategies include masking, physical distancing, and testing.
Retreat Policy
Always wash your hands thoroughly before touching or serving food; consider wearing a mask. If you experience upper respiratory or GI symptoms while on retreat, put on a mask and inform staff immediately. Those who test positive for COVID or experience severe symptoms may be asked to isolate or leave the retreat to reduce the risk of spread.
We recommend that you include a COVID test kit on your packing list if you are staying at PZC for a week or longer. Free COVID test kits are currently available from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.
Cancellation Policy
Please contact us to reschedule or cancel your retreat or Guest Stay if you experience any symptoms of illness, including fever, sore throat, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, cough, and/or taste disorders.
Retreat costs are refundable, minus a 20% deposit. Travel insurance is highly recommended, especially for international travelers, to cover trip cancellation & potential medical expenses.
