Buddha’s Enlightenment Day 2016

Celebrate Buddha's Enlightenment at Providence Zen Center   All Events are free to the public.   If you are interested in staying over night, please contact Ames Colt, Kwan Um School of Zen Director, 401.658.1476.

Dharma School / All Sangha Bonfire

Saturday July 19 - 7:00PM: the Dharma School will host an all-sangha bonfire at the Providence Zen Center. Come enjoy an evening together while we're on break from our regular classes. Some snacks will be provided (like vegetarian hotdogs and s'mores), but feel free to bring food to share. The students will be practicing their songs from this past year in preparation for a performance at Founder's Day on August 2nd.

Wednesday Open House Free and Open to the Public 5:30pm Public vegetarian dinner 6:30pm Meditation instruction class 6:30pm Special Chanting 7:00pm Regular Chanting 7:30pm Two sitting periods with walking meditation in between.     Our Wednesday open house, like most of our public programs, is always free, but any donations are gratefully accepted. If you would like to make a donation to our center, you can do it securely online with credit card or PayPal.
