Zen Master Bon Shim (Aleksandra Porter) is the Regional Zen Master for the Kwan Um School of Zen in Europe. As a young girl growing up in Cracow, Poland she gravitated to the contemplative atmosphere and the smell of incense of the Catholic Church. Yong Maeng Jong Jin retreats are two, three or seven days and held in silence. The daily schedule consists of ten hours of Zen practice (bowing, chanting, sitting and walking), work and rest periods, and vegetarian meals eaten in traditional temple style.
